Nuclino Basics

These are four core concepts Nuclino is built upon:

elements2

Team

Teams are used to keep team members and workspaces organized on a higher level. A team could, for example, represent a whole company, a department of an organization, or a few people working together on projects.

Workspace

Workspaces provide a layer to organize your team's information around topics or projects such as design, development, or engineering. Workspaces can contain clusters and items.

Cluster

Clusters help you group items together, for example in stages such as todo, doing, and done. They allow custom ordering of items which makes prioritization easy.

Item

Items can represent different pieces of information, such as meetings, ideas, plans, tasks, and more. They can be edited in real-time by multiple users and contain many different kinds of content such as text, images, tables, code, embeds, and more.

Views

Views allow you to organize, track, and explore items in different ways. Each view has its unique strengths.

All

The all view is the default view in any workspace. It lets you create and organize items and clusters. You can drag and drop items to move them in clusters or change the order of items. The view also allows you to create subclusters that are part of other clusters.

Recent

The recent view provides, as the name implies, a simple list of the most recently created or updated items. It's a great view to get started without the burden of any structure. It's perfect for ideation or if you just need to capture some information quickly.

Board

The board view provides a way to visually organize items in clusters. Just like in Trello you can use it for workflows, topics, categories and more. However, compared to Trello you additionally can attach large amounts of information like descriptions or extensive specifications to each item using the real-time editor.

Graph

The graph view allows you to get a quick visual overview of the clusters and items in a team. This view can, for example, be used to onboard new team members and let them explore the different clusters and items of any given workspace.

Three Steps to Your Team's Unified Workspace

Step 1: Create a team

All the magic in Nuclino happens inside teams. They offer a shared space for collaboration. Sign up and create a team as outlined here to build the foundation of your team: Create a team

Step 2: Invite people to collaborate

Collaboration is part of Nuclino's DNA and is built from the ground up with this purpose in mind. Some features are so team-centric that you can only experience them with other people, for example, the real-time collaboration, presence indicator, or user mentions. There is still lots to explore in Nuclino alone, but it's always more fun together!

You can follow this guide to invite people to your team: Invite people to a team

Step 3: Create your first item

Simply click Create Item inside a team and workspace. A new item is instantly created and shared with the workspace members. Inside the item, you can capture all the information you want. It is the playground where you can work together in real-time and add text, images, videos, file attachments, tables, tasks, and more.
